William Wayne Fain

MOUNTAIN CITY, TN
- William Wayne Fain, age 74, of Mountain City, passed away Sunday, June 10,
2007 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. William was born on September 17, 1932 in
Lamar, TX to the late D.E. and Vivie Smith Fain. He was a three year Veteran of
the U.S. Marine Corp. and 18 year veteran of the U.S. Air Force, honorably
retired. He enjoyed and loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He also
liked to travel.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Pearl, a
brother, Thomas, and his, step-father, Wilbur Calder.
Survivors include his son, Dennis Fain and wife Gladys of Virginia Beach, VA;
his daughter, Lisa Atwood and husband David of Mountain City; five
grandchildren; Natalie and Marc Fain of Virginia Beach, VA, Joseph, Jesse and
Geena Atwood of Mountain City; former mother-in-law and second mom, Mattie
Walker; care taker, Marie Dunn; special friends, Shirley and Bill Michael,
Valerie Atwood, Kristy Maze, Selmer Humphrey, and many other friends.
There will be no service or visitation at the funeral home. William's wishes
were to be cremated. Some of his ashes will be buried in the family cemetery in
Mountain City among loved ones, while the rest will be buried with his fellow
veterans at Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors.
